Writing isn’t about money or fame; it’s about finding joy in the craft. Sure, getting published and selling books should be a bonus, but above all else, remember why you picked up the pen in the first place—because it brings you happiness, pure and simple. I started writing to work out things in my head. Mental puzzles that had no answers outside of my own mind, but I couldn’t talk about them with anyone else. Talking was too… messy and hard, so I turned to the pen as therapy. In time, those mental stories became conversations with friends. Then they became books—like most writers’ dreams do.
